Photo Decals - Colour
You must supply finished artwork at exact size required and at 300 dpi. Please note that this is to be fused either between 2 layers of glass or on top. A white base glass is necessary for the truest colours and we recommend a machine rolled glass such as Spectrum System 96 for the least distortions. We get consistently good results up to 100 mm (4”) square. The only significant problem we have experienced at this size is unwanted bubbles. Most of the time (90% plus) they are not noticeable but occasionally we end up with a picture of someone with what looks like a large wart on their nose. We tend to make 2 decals of each photo and if the first one does not fire nicely then we use the second. Going to larger sizes – the largest we have gone is 200 mm (8”) square – is possible but with such a large area the firing schedule is necessarily slow and the potential for unfortunate bubbles increases. With respect to the actual photos we get best results with people, animals, etc which are well lit and against a light background – such as the sky or a commercial photography backdrop. Dark and/or complex backgrounds tend not to work as well.
